Eloise Rankine is an artist based in the Southern Highlands of NSW, Australia.
Her work is inspired by the fabric of the domestic space. She explores imagery and repeated mark making inspired by the materials which connect us. From tea towels used every day, to quilts made by her mother and blankets given to her new baby, her work ruminates on the small moments which are often overlooked. Working between ceramics, drawing and installation art, her work spans functional pieces for the home to installation artworks questioning the nature of learning, human relationships and failure. Eloise's ceramic works are predominately thrown on the pottery wheel using porcelain and often altered and carved by hand. Larger scale and tiny houses are built by hand. Eloise also makes functional wares as elph ceramics. CV |
